Terms of Service for NotForKids

1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to NotForKids ("NFK," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the NotForKids website and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility (Adults Only)
This Service is strictly for individuals 18 years of age and older. By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We reserve the right to remove content or block access for any user we believe to be under 18.
3. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
You are solely responsible for your conduct and any content you submit. By using the Service, you agree to the following rules:
- Protect Anonymity: You must not share content that exposes, shames, or "doxxes" any individual, including yourself. You are responsible for swapping names, blurring locations, and stripping all personally identifying information from your submissions.
- Zero Tolerance for Harm: You may not post, share, or promote any content that is:
- Illegal, fraudulent, or promotes illegal activity.
- Hate speech, discriminatory, or incites hatred against any individual or group.
- Threatening, harassing, abusive, or promotes violence.
- Defamatory, libelous, or invasive of another's privacy.
- Share What Is Yours: You may only share stories and content that belong to you and do not infringe on the rights of any third party.
4. Intellectual Property and Content License
- Your Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to the stories, text, audio, or other content you submit to the Service ("User Content").
- License to Us: By posting User Content, you grant NFK a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and transferable license to display, reproduce, distribute, modify (e.g., for formatting or to remove identifiers), and promote your User Content in any format on or in connection with the Service. We will, however, make reasonable efforts to maintain the anonymity you intended.
5. Content Management and Moderation
We operate an active moderation policy to maintain the safety and "vibe" of the Service.
- Our Rights: We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to edit, hide, delete, or re-categorize any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find otherwise objectionable.
- Content Lifecycle:
- Free Lounge: Content posted in the "Free Lounge" may be automatically rotated and deleted after a set period (e.g., seven days).
- Gold Vault: Content in the "Gold Vault" may be archived or deleted at our discretion or upon a storyteller's request.
- Reporting: Users may flag any content that appears to violate these Terms using the moderation tools provided. We will review reports and take appropriate action.
6. "Gold Vault" Subscriptions (Future Service)
We may offer a premium subscription service ("Gold Vault"). The specific terms for this service, including pricing, billing cycles, renewal policies, and cancellation procedures, will be published and presented to you for agreement before you subscribe to such a service.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service, including any premium subscriptions, immediately and without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms. The "Zero Tolerance for Harm" policy (Section 3) will be strictly enforced, and violations are grounds for immediate and permanent suspension.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- As-Is Service: The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
- User Content: We do not endorse and are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or decency of User Content. You access all content at your own risk.
- Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, NFK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post date-stamped updates to this page when changes are made. Your continued use of the Service after such changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
